Our £400k Faraday Battery Challenge Feasibility Study (IUK133370) completed in March 2019 with an Innovate UK score of 4.5 out of 5!
In collaboration with Prof. Andrew Hector at the University of Southampton the project successfully demonstrated an advanced carbon-composite negative electrode material for sodium-ion batteries which raises the energy density and cyclability of sodium-ion batteries as we strive to reach parity with lithium. Work with partners at WMG and NPL now commences to realise the full potential of our material by developing targeted electrolyte and cathode materials.
