Following significant design and verification modelling, the first prototype 430 kW machine build has commenced ready for lab testing and verification by DGI subsidiary, Deregallera Ltd. Achieving a very compact form to enable use in a large range of axles and wheel end drive applications the system includes class leading volumetric power density and redundancy.
Designed to withstand the rigours of axle mounted long life use the system has multi level fault tolerance to the extent that mechanical brakes are unnecessary – giving the prospect of removing brake dust – a significant pollution source and health hazard especially in city environments. Its anticipated high efficiency provides for more miles from a battery charge – keeping running costs down and environmental impact low.
